Painted in oils using only ivory black, with flake white reserved strictly for subtle touch-ups, this work began on a pure white canvas. I preserved the whites deliberately—letting the untouched surface act as natural light within the composition. Every shadow was built slowly, layer by layer, with a conscious effort to let darkness shape the form rather than overworking detail. The result is an image that feels suspended—alive with quiet threat—where the absence of sound becomes the loudest element.
