'The Sunset Kisss'

There’s something about a sunset that makes even the busiest moments feel a little quieter. In my painting, an orca rises from the calm ocean just as the sun reaches the horizon, creating a moment that feels almost as though the sea is reaching up to kiss the last light of the day.
The warm glow of the setting sun reflects across the water, blending with the deep blues and purples of the ocean and the distant mountains. I wanted to keep the scene peaceful and simple, while still giving it that feeling of wonder you get when you witness something beautiful in nature.
For me, the orca emerging from the water represents one of those fleeting moments that you can’t really plan for, but you simply have to be there to see it. The sun will disappear, the colours will fade, and the ocean will return to its quiet rhythm, but for that brief moment, everything comes together perfectly.
 
The Sunset Kiss is about that little moment of connection between the ocean and the sky, and the beauty of simply pausing to take it in.
