Orca in the Lily Waters explores the meeting of two seemingly opposite worlds, the quiet delicacy of blooming lilies and the immense power of an orca moving beneath the surface.
A lone orca glides through dark, still waters, almost disappearing into the shadows. Above it, vibrant pink lilies float peacefully on the surface, their colors breaking through the darkness. Their reflections stretch and distort across the water, spilling soft pink, white, and crimson tones onto the orca’s black body. The reflected light becomes part of the animal itself, blurring the boundary between the world above and the world below.
 
I wanted to create something that felt surreal yet peaceful, using darkness as an important part of the composition rather than simply a background. The contrast between the delicate lilies and the powerful presence of the orca creates a sense of mystery as though we are witnessing a hidden world beneath the surface. 
The painting is a study of reflection, contrast, silence, and the unexpected beauty found where different worlds meet.
