In Her Wake is painted entirely from the concept of bubbles, chosen intentionally to represent breath, life, and the unbreakable bond between a mother orca and her calf. Each bubble becomes a quiet symbol of guidance and protection, shaping their forms as they rise together through the blue. To me, the bubbles feel like shared breaths—moments of reassurance passed from mother to calf—fragile on their own, yet powerful when they come together. The ocean holds them in stillness, allowing the bond to speak without sound.
