'Beneath Her Wing'

I painted this scene to express the bond between a mother and her calf — a relationship built on trust, strength, and closeness. The challenge was to balance the realism of the water with the softness of their interaction. Every highlight, shadow, and ripple was placed to make you feel like you’re swimming right there with them.
There’s something deeply peaceful about how orcas move together — strong yet gentle — and that’s what I aimed to bring out in Beneath Her Wing.
